How do I know if my GPU is working

It was Black Friday this weekend and I went a bought a corsair 650 watt gold standards power supply along with a AMD R7 370 GPU. I have a Asus m3a78-em mother board and with an AMD CPU(I forgot what kind) along with a Seagate 500gb hard drive. I installed everything and everything is running but when I try and play CSGO I can see lines on my screen effecting the picture and making it look weird and ARMA3 is running at 15 FPS on low. I don't understand be use the GPU is supposed to be able to run is atleast on medium at 40 FPS. Thanks for any help.

Did you install the video card drivers? Did you check your CPU specs and see how that is to run ARMA3? A fast video card with a slow CPU will only do so much.
