How do I know if the PC parts are compatible?

So how do I know if my PC components are compatible? How do I know if that Motherboard will fit in that case. How do I know if my GPU will fit in my Motherboard? In general I mean. And while we're at it are there any websites to check which components will fit with each other? I've heard of PCpartpicker, but more websites just in case.

The best is to go on PCPartPicker and place your parts on System Build. You may even find a cheaper price.

And towards the end of the page it will tell you if everything is compatible.

Also post your build here. I've found that PartPicker doesn't always get it right eg whether a graphics card will fit in a case.
