hi, i would like to get a better graphics card and want to know if all card fit in all boards. and do i have to upgrade the other things like ram or cpu.

my motherboard- Acer Predator G3620

my prosessor-Intel Core i5-2320 Processor

ram-8 gb

and my gpu i have now is
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 (DDR3)

maybe one of you have some ideas to a good card?

it would be easier to help you if you gave us a budget
what is probably going to limit your choices is not the motherboard, but the power supply and your case
you will have to open your case and check the brand and model of your power supply
you should find this on a sticker located on the side of your power supply
also try to measure the distance from the i/o bracket to the cage drive
note that you already have a graphics card and if you buy a new one you will have to replace it, you will not be able to use both of them at the same time

lack of information. graphics cards are largely determined by power supply wattage and amperage, better faster cards require more power the high end cards typically require 36 amps and 200 watts on their own

a GT 760 would be a decent step up for the price but you really should check out Best Graphics Cards For The Money: December 2013 article and make a choice your wallet can afford as you might need to upgrade your power supply in order to have a better graphics card as well.

depends on the kind of power supply you have got. you might have to move the wifi card (if you have any) under the single slot gfx card before you install a new gfx card.

depending on your budget, psu and pc support, it can be anything from a radeon hd 7750 1GB GDDR5 to radeon r9 270x 2GB or gtx 760 2GB.

you'll need to specify your acer predator model. one of the results google searching turned up had a core i5 3350 and an fsp built 80+ bronze psu. another one had a no-name psu.

edit: intel core i5 2320 can support any pcie gfx card as long as your pc can support it. sometimes bios, psu, motherboard support can interfere. so you need to make sure of that beforehand.

Yep you got a standard ATX case so any card should fit. The only thing you need to check is if your PSU is powerful enough. Also check how many PCI-E power connectors your PSU has. Best thing to do is probably to open your case and look directly at the PSU and see how many PCI-E connectors you got.

And about suggesting good ideas for a card, it depends on many things:

- What games you're going to play?
- What monitor and resolution you'll be using?
- What's your budget?
- Your options will also depend on your PSU capability (but PSU can be upgraded too if necessary).

I have i5 2500k processor and MoBo is Gigabyte GA H61M-D2H [possibly Rev 1.0]. It uses DDR3 RAM and has 16GB capacity of 4x4 GB slots. Will Radeon HD 7770 or NVidia GT650 Ti work on it? Can a DDR5 compatible card like those work on my MoBo? Is my MoBo compatible with DDR5 RAM or GFX card? Do I need DDR5 RAM if it works? Currently I use NVidia GT 610 card on PCE v2.0
If the said proposed cards cannot work I am also open to using GT640 DDR3 card if it works. What would be the best card in between GT640 - GT650 range?

yes either one will work as long as you have a good power supply and if your pc's case can fit one.

ddr5 doesn't exist. current gfx cards use GDDR5 vram.

gt640 will also work. but for gaming you'll need more powerful gfx cards.

it's been a while since you started the thread, market situation has changed a bit. the best card imo, would be the 7770 or radeon r7 250x (same chip as the radeon 7770) or radeon r7 260x or radeon r7 265 depending on budget. make sure your pc's case can house a dual slot, standard size gfx card.

Thanks. Its either one of what you suggested or GTX650Ti/750Ti.
