I am using a pretty old pre-built pc, I decided to upgrade a few parts since I currently cannot afford a new pc or build a new one, however, my question is about my ram, on the product's support site it says I can hold 16 GB ram with my model, scans like crucial scan says I can upgrade to 16, a few other sites have said 16 gb, but when I run the cmd command it says I can hold a total of 8 gb ram, which is fine, I'll get 8 gb ram, but I have 4 slots so does that mean I would install 2 gb ram per slot? or can I install 2, 4gb rams?

It's gonna be hard to know what you can and can't put in that system without any information about that system.

We need to know what motherboard this is and the specs.
Well I am unsure on the motherboard, How can I find out what motherboard I have? excuse me for being dumb, I am not really a techy person, though the computer I am using is a Lenovo m 5864. these are the specs I found.

Try running a userbenchmark test and paste the results link here.

You click on the "Free download" button.

Should tell us the motherboard you use on the results page.
