How do i know which HDMI version my HDMI port is?

As the title says, i wonder which version my HDMI port is, but everywhere i checked it just says HDMI port, my pc is a Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ISK. Please help!

I believe the y700 series has hdmi 1.4 but i am not totally sure, however everyone seems to think its 1.4

Its seems as though lenovo and every review I could find fails to mention what version of HDMI it is using so I cant say for sure. If I had to guess it is more than likely 1.4.

With an external monitor? HDMI 1.4 is capable of 1080p 120hz. I am not sure if the laptop will output that however.

I was under the impression 1.4 goes up to max 60 hz.
dont you have to have at least 2.0 for higher hz?

HDMI 1.4b can which is more than likely what that laptop is using. Its kind of confusing, I used to think the same thing. Basically HDMI 1.4b can do 1080p 120hz if the monitor supports it over HDMI 1.4b which not all do. The laptop would also have to be able to output 120hz over hdmi 1.4b.

Yeah your right, HDMI is confusing. 1080p 120hz for 3d, 1080p 75hz or so for 2d.
