How do I leave a NT Domain?

I have an NT 4 work station system. It appears to have
two identities, computername1 in workgroup MSHOME and a
different computername in an NT4 domain.

The system no longer needs to connect to the NT domain so
how can I remove this? I just log on locally.

I am trying to share some folders between the NT4
workstation and a XP system, but I am getting network not
found error messages when I try to map network drives.
The network is fine, can ping, share files by netmeeting
but I can not share folders. I think it is something to
do with that redundant NT4 domain.

Thanks

The only possibility to change the way a NT4 box logs on is reinstalling it
and telling if it has to connect on a workgroup or a domain during the
installation... I'm sorry 🙂

Ok, thanks. I may still have the install disks somewhere
so I could try that. I think that will get over my file
sharing problems.

Not true. You can join a workgroup with a workstation machine all you want
w/o reinstalling. Just make sure you know the local administrators password
before moving to a workgroup. This is only true of Domain Controllers where
a reinstall is needed to take them out of a domain, workstation machines
have no problem going from a workgroup to a domain and back and forth all
day long.
