Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this site, and I'm sorry for any errors in details, and structure.
I just bought an ASUS K31BF-BB82. The computer came with an AMD A8-7600 Kaveri Quad-Core 3.1 GHz Socket FM2 processor, and Radeon R7 graphics.
The computer runs nicely, I think, but the processor averages temperatures from 70 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius.
I looked the processor up on new eggs, and found out that overheating is common with the stock cooler it comes with. I plan to buy a new heat sink for it, but in the mean time, I think some people have had luck reducing the watts down to 45 instead of the default 65, and also, by turning off the Turbo Core. I would like to try both these to see if I can reduce the temperature until I can get a new cooling system for it, but I have no idea how. I thought it would be in the BIOS, but I couldn't find the right area.
Does anyone know how to make these changes? Are there some things to be aware of?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
Nathan.
