I need to make a boot disk, can someone give me a website or explain how?

Thanks.

I think that bootdisk.com is a really good site, you should really look into them.

Well, I downloaded the tweakfiles boot disk and made boot disk, put it in, started up the computer, all that...and then it gives me a "Non-System disk or disk error". I've tried it on multiple disks and get the same error. Why is it giving me this error?

Hope you can help, thanks.

I don't know about Win2k. But if you are now using a Win98 or WinME OS, you can make a startup disk by using Settings/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. Click on the Startup tab and follow prompts.

Press Enter to continue...

I checked, couldn't find anything about a boot disk in Add/Remove Programs, guess that's just 98/ME.

I remember reading somewhere that you should be able to boot from the Win2K CD. Go into the BIOS and make the start up drive the CD-Rom. If just getting it to boot is what you want, then you are ok.

A freelance computer/web author writes this article on boot disks:

I've made one, plus it's perfect to get into DOS and more...

If that doesn't help, I don't know what will. 😱

What kind of boot disk do I need to install Win2k to a brand new custom build system? Can I use the start up disk from Win98?

You're gonna need the Windows 2000 install CD. No, you can't use the Windows 98 startup disk.

i kept getting disk i/o errors when trying to remove 2000. i ended up changing the pnp os settings in the bios and was able to boot using a 98 disk. dont know if that helps you at all.....

windows 2000 cd is all you need for everything win2000 related. the only reason you will need a floppy is for emergency recovery.

eh, i'll procrastinate later...
