I recently got a gaming mouse and it seems to have two additional buttons at the side. So I wanted to program them for something useful. I though maybe one can type out my username and the other, my password. Is there a way to to that ?
Nvm i found out how to do it. In X-mouse you have to go to the button. Then go to Simulated Keys. And on the top there is a place to write called custom key.
Just write what you want there and it works perfectly.
Information about if it can be done and how, should be found in the help files of the software you got/downloaded to use with the mouse. Else it could be documented on the manufacturers website and/or in the manual you hopefully got with the mouse.
The manual doesn't say anything about reprograming the buttons. What they do rn is, when browsing one goes a page backwards the other, forwards,
I downloaded a program called X-MOUSE which successfully reprograms them but I can't find anything about the buttons writing a text.
hard to say depends on the model, you could I guess configure an F key to be something (text) and set that mouse button to activate that F button... or press the keyboard
