It's an Acer Aspire E1-522 it gets to the login screen but after you log in it either hangs or gives an error saying user profile failed to log in and another error about memory. How do I make a recovery CD or Flash Drive for the computer?
With another PC, get the installer for windows 8 - write it to a USB drive and you will be able to boot from there and access startup repair and, if worst comes to worst, you can refresh your PC from there.
1) As said, use STARTUP REPAIR. You can Google for more information.
Acer actually has the same advice with instructions on how to create a repair disc from your own laptop however that's not useful to you now.
2) I suggest running MEMTEST before doing anything else www.memtest.org (full pass is roughly 30 minutes per 8GB).
You may need to change the boot order so DVD is first (in BIOS) if it skips over the DVD. You may be able to use a USB stick for the same thing.
3) RESTORE BACKUP IMAGE:
This will wipe all data so it's a last resort. There's a hidden backup Image on the HDD you can use by booting with the proper F-KEY pressed.
4) WHEN you get your system sorted out I suggest making a backup IMAGE of your C-drive and store on a USB drive. I use Acronis True Image.
