How do I make games go straight to my HDD?

Hello, I installed my OS to my ssd and other relevant files to it. Then I turned my pc off and plugged in my HDD. But I have a problem, everything I attepmt to install is going straight to the local disk with windows on it. How do I choose my HDD? When i choose it this message pops up "you must enter a valid directory name and cannot install at root level. please select another location" Help please.

When the game allows a custom installation, choose that and direct the installation to the drive/folder you want. I just change c: to e: in my case

Thanks! that's exactly what i needed to do! Instead of manually opening the local disk just changed the c: to e:, wish I didn't waste space with this thread -_-
