On my acer Aspire (windows 8) i have a Acer (C: ) drive (46 GB) and a DATA (D: ) drive (931 GB). Whenever I install something, it installs it on my C: drive and I obviously want it installed on my D: drive instead. How do i do this? Thanks in advance.

Hi there driesez,

Elveon is right. Most of the software tools ask you where you want to install them. Just pick your D: partition.
Do you have data stored on your D? In case you don't have any data over there, you can go to Disk Management, delete it and extend your C: partition. Also, you can shrink your D: partition and extend your C: one.

If Disk Management doesn't allow you to do some of these, you can use some third party partition management tool.

You should always back up your data before dealing with partitions.

Well pretty much every installing software asks you where to install, so should be pretty easy choosing the right drive each time..
However, if your question is how to change the letter or how to make unique partition by extending the C drive, then you can do it by the Disk Management window. However it's a bit tricky and if you dont know how to exactly do it, dont touch anything and i'll tell you what and how
