How do I make my Master Cooler ML240L RGB connect to Aura on my ASUS motherboard?

Hello,

I have everything connected to Aura except my Master Cooler ML240L RGB AIO cooler. I have followed the manual to install the Cooler however there is no instructions on how to connect to Aura.
Now I need some help on how I would connect this cooler to Aura.

Please see photo:

Do I connect the circled red RGB connector directly to my RGB headers on my motherboard, would that work?
I am confused because it currently connects to a controller and the other side has a cable that connects directly to the PSU.

Hope someone can assist me.
Thank you!!!

Solution
The controller which is included is for use with motherboards with no RGB headers or if you prefer to control it separately.

- Pump to pump header
- Fan PWM to CPU Fan Header
- Fan RGB to RGB header

Same here but with light blue lights.
I connected pump+fan to the motherboard with the RGB cable splitter but doesn't appear the cooler in the Aura Sync panel.

You're supposed to start your own thread when you have questions?

Anyways, the RGB cable can only be plugged into the RGB header of the motherboard. If your motherboard does not have and RGB header it will not work with Aura Sync. You will have to use the controller that can with your fan. Connect it properly per the manual and control it by whatever means they offer.

The fan headers are only for power fans. With RGB fans the fan power cable and RGB cable go to separate connectors.

If your motherboard has an RGB header. Be careful when plugging it in. RGB headers are not standardized. It is easy to reverse the polarity and severe damage. Make sure the negative (-) on the cable is going to the negative on the motherboard. They are usualy marked -, R, G, B.

Hello and thanks for your time velocityg4.

I know I have started a new thread when this one was here, but my problem was a bit different. Just wanted to had separate threads because we have different issues/questions. Or that was my impression till I read in this post to another user who was having my same problem. Otherwise, I don't ask for help until I have tried to fix the problem by my self several times, so please don't confuse my request for help. I have tried everything I could imagine.

I perfectly know how to connect the AiO system, is no the first I have, but the first with RGB lighting.
Even it's my first RGB one, I have read many reviews before buying it to be sure it was 100% compatible with my rig and Aura Sync by the 4 pin header, not being necessary using the 'physical' controller that you mentioned.

(Could be an advertisement but it's just to clarify that the cooler is compatible with large MB manufacturers)

So, with all the connectors plugged correctly, updated BIOS, latest Aura drivers and the compatibility checked', why are we (alacapez6 and I) getting static colours instead of full RGB control over our AiO systems? Is this cooler 'trolling' us or something? Maybe software issues/compatibility? I have to say that the software crashes very usually (every version of it does).

Thanks again for the answer.

LOL ok I just typed this long story about the type R coolers the individually addressable led lit cooler doh.

You might have to reverse the 4 pen connector to get the right color and you have to calibrate your mobo headers in the aura sync software usually. It does all three colors and you just tell it which one your seeing 3 steps easy peasy.

So all the coolers with the L at the end are regular rgb. if you want that to work with aura just leave out the coolermaster controller and plug the 4 pin rgb into a motherboard header or use a splitter to T it into something that is already attached to a header. you can split them out 15 ways it doesnt change the brightness or anything 3 way five way 3 way off a 5 way. They don't secure very well though its easy to knock the connections loose a lot of the time.

OH BTW THAT LITTLE COOLERMASTER CONTROLLER DOES A BETTER DIM MODE VERY SUBTLE AND YOU CAN KINDA SEE THE BLADES ON THE FANS WITH THAT SETTING ITS NICE.

I also have that same little controller but I don't use it they sent it with this case I have for the front fans I guess on mobos that dont have headers for rgb.

The only good thing about aura sync is the music and the smart mode. Personally the flashing bothers me and you have to know what your temps are supposed to be for smart mode on temp. It uses the same temp range for the colors on everything but you might be able to tune it for each I'm not sure. when I use it my video card turns red everytime it throttles up lol. the fans dont even kick in until the red color range.

It's not that big of a deal to use 2 or 3 different control methods for lighting really once you know what you want it to look like its just set them and leave them. lol or even get bored with it and turn them off they don't really do anything ya know

I have a question, my motherboard is the ASUS B450 F Gaming, but this board only has a RGB pin (4 pin), but the fans of the ml240R are ARGB (3 pin) so I can not connect it directly to the board, I would need some kind of adapter (if it exists).
From the technical service of ASUS they tell me that it can be synchronized to the board, but only from the UK market, I live in Spain and it is supposed that it is not compatible here. Do you believe it or are you trying to strain it so that it does not bother you?
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

You have to look for the adapters in the box (included).
There are adapters for the controller and for the motherboard.
You connect all the ARGB fan cables to the splitter and then use the little adapter to the join the splitter end with motherboard ARGB (4 pins).

I would say that it is not there, or there is not one that fits me the truth, do you know if it can be bought loose?
