Hello.

my pc is from Aug. 12 22 and its been running fast and stable most of the time since then, but then since friday the 7th of July its been getting slower and slower and yesterday and today to the point where i sometimes cant even use Mozilla Firefox, its also very slow in Google Chrome (I get something with pages not responding), it takes forever to open up documents, my pc and to turn off the pc etc. And then now all of a sudden its fast again, its very weird and annoying. I have a backup from the 29th of June i could use, but there is some stuff that isnt backed up, so im hoping there is another solution ? Ive been running Windows Defender and its not finding any viruses.

June 29 backup made with what application?

Have you tested RAM?

How much free space on either of your drives?

Have you opened Task Manager to observe anything when the PC is slow?
Macrium Reflect

i had no clue that there is a way to test RAM, how do i do that ?

on the C drive where Windows is i have 1.71 TB space and on my D drive where i have everything else i have 387 GB space left

and no i havent had Task Manager open to check, im not sure exactly what i should look after precisely.

thanks for answering.

You can get a preliminary examination of memory by typing "memory" into a search box.

You should see "Windows Memory Diagnostic". Running it won't take very long. Its not extremely thorough, but could pick up issues.

In Task Manager, the "CPU" and "Disk" columns should show if anything is heavily occupying them. Poke the column heading to sort from most to least.

100% agree with post #2 when this happens open task manager and take a look. Is CPU being used high percent? Than go down the list and see if and what might be hogging all the resources. Oh while you have task manager open go down to your task bar, see your task manager icon there. Right click it and pin it there for one click, not a have to but makes things smoother when you have a PC issue your chasing down.

Windows Memory Diagnostic found nothing

CPU is between 1-8% atm., memory is at 38-47% and disk is at 0%

I havent installed any programs after the 29th, only changed documents and added pictures i think.

You could:

1; copy all of your documents and pictures to some other drive.

then

2; restore the June 29 image.

then

3; copy the documents and images back to your newly restored image.

Not necessarily a recommendation. Just a possibility.

If the PC is acting slow at any future time, try to look at "processes" in Task Manager to see which one is most active.

Well if my pc is slow, shouldnt i be scared that there is a virus or something and that my backup will get infected as soon as i plug it into my pc ? I did run Windows Defender and Malwarebytes and they didnt find anything.

If your PC had a "virus or something" on June 29 when you made the image, it will have the "virus or something" AFTER you restore the June 29 image. The virus would be contained within the image file you made on that date and your PC would be in the same state as it was on June 29. Whatever that was; fabulous or terrible.

If your PC did NOT have a virus on June 29 when you made the image, then a restoration of that image would be virus-free.

If your current problems are hardware-related, then restoring the June 29 image would likely not help.

I have no idea if your current problems are hardware-related.

I am guessing that you have never restored a Macrium image before. There is some risk in doing that if you are totally inexperienced. We have no idea if you made the image correctly or if you would necessarily be in a better position if you restored it.

You state in your first post "And then now all of a sudden its fast again". You might want to wait to see if the problem recurs rather than doing anything right now.

I would probably await further developments if things are OK now. You could easily have intermittent hardware issues or Windows or software issues unrelated to a virus.

Sorry for the late reply ive been on a small ''vacation'' with no pc. But okay i dont think it would be a problem using the backup then, since i didnt have any problems back then, but i havent had any issues with my pc since i made this post and you are saying that: You state in your first post "And then now all of a sudden its fast again". You might want to wait to see if the problem recurs rather than doing anything right now. - So i guess i shouldnt use the backup right now ? And im pretty sure i made the image correctly, since i got alot of help with doing it from a page called tenforums and i even checked if the image worked with Oracle VM VirtualBox and worked perfect.

here is the manager to check you ssd https://www.kingston.com/fr/support/technical/ssdmanager also try the os one only in system to see if speed down or up also did you check your net settings for download and upload speed to high upload could hugh system .
Sorry for the late reply ive been on a small ''vacation'' with no pc. But i used Crystal Diskinfo to check my HD's. It says C is 99% good and D is 100% good ? Could it be because the C drive is at 99% ? Should i still check with theese programs you are mentioning ? and what do you mean about checking my net settings ? I have 300 dl/300 ul

Maybe run crap cleaner a few times and see if you have a massive backload of temp documents, cookies, etc. You can run CCleaner free.
Im running everything in CCleaner, as i guess thats what you want me to do, but when i came to the driver part and it was trying to install them i got blue screened with some error, then my pc restarted and is working normal again, the drivers isnt updated though, should i try again or what should i do at this step ?

Be careful with CCleaner.

It can inflict problems; as you are finding out.

Yes, plenty will tell you "I've never had a problem with it".

You can easily get yourself into a situation where you MUST use your June 29 image.

Speaking of that:

Did you or didn't you make a "recovery media" bootable USB flash drive within Macrium menus after you installed Macrium?

If you did NOT, how are you going to boot your PC if your hard drive becomes unbootable for whatever reason?

Yeah CCleaner is <Mod Edit> imo, it might do some good stuff for my pc, but its also doing alot of annoying stuff, so im going to revert some of the stuff that it did and delete it again.

yeah i a USB with Rescue Media from Macrium and then a different external hd with the backup or image or what its called.
