Do you think I should return the MSI when it arrives and order the laptop below for another $200 instead? I have a broken laptop with 16 gigs of memory that I was going to use in the MSI.

ASUS - TUF DASH 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel 11th Gen i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

I have a gaming PC so the laptop will only be used a handful of times when on travel/vacation throughout the year.

I'm still on the fence but considering BB reduced the price overnight to $919 I'm leaning towards keeping it. So a couple of questions on making it work.

- I have a bunch of PC gaming headphones and headsets with the double 3.5mm plugs for sound and MIC. I only see one audio plug on this laptop. So I'm assuming I need a new headset? What kind do I look for. Amazon isn't very clear from what I can see.

- I only see 2 traditional usb inputs. I would like at least one more for say a mouse, gamepad, maybe a usb headset, etc. What are my options if any?

what are the exact specs of both units? Laptop cpus are hard to understand when all you get is I5 and I7, just looking at these i7-10750h and i5-10500h both are 6 core 12 thread cpus the only difference is the i7 has a slightly higher core and boost clock.

Both are on Best Buy website

MSI - GF65 15.6" 144hz Intel Core i5 10500H 512 SSD 8 gig of ram (I have 16 gig I can use from broken I7 GTX 2060 sager laptop) RTX 3060 ($919)

or

Asus Tuf Dash 15.6" 144hz 11th Gen i7 16 gig of ram, RTX 3060 512GZB SSD for $1,149.99

I'm "ok" with this laptop if I can get help on these issues:

You could try to find a trrs splitter like this:

if your laptop have a usb c, you could buy a usb type c hub for peripherals.

Thanks everyone for the input. A splitter and a hub and I'm set it sounds like.
just make sure you get a good quality one. i used to cheap out on the splitter, and it resulted very terrible, audio was fine, but the jack is slipping through the housing etc etc. and it started to create problem with my audio channels, and ground problem causes mic to crosstalk. i decided to spend a bit more and i got a pretty good one, better and thicker cable, better housing and design, and less crosstalking.
