I recently bought a Z400 board with it's cooler/fan, but without the backplate. I tried booting up and using the PC without mounting the cooler (just standing on the cpu with paste) (because I'm an idiot) and it runs not bad actually. Idle temp is 10-20+room temp, while load temp is 30-40+ room temp. But I still would like to mount this securely (because I'm not a complete idiot), but there are problems. The backplate is probably sold on Ebay, but I would not like to buy it since it's likely very heavy (I don't live in the US and couriers cost 8$/kg). I tried to mount it to wood, but a screw for metal ofc won't stick to wood. I tried to find a nut for the screws, but the screw is just too damn small. Any solutions?
