Hello all, so Christmas is coming around and I am getting a new graphics card. I have been using an AMD APU for a while now and I am ready to upgrade to a better alternative, a R9 270. However, I'm concerned as to how my computer will switch to using the graphics card. Do I have to go into the BIOS and select an option to boot with my graphics card? Will I have to disable my APU beforehand? Is it safe? Please let me know if you're into this sort of thing! Any help is appreciated!

Solution
Yes its safe no you won't have to choose anything in the bios. You computer will detect the gpu connected and automatically use it. You will want to upgrade your cpu next chance you get as apus are horrible as cpus
