How do I obtain Windows XP x64 Edition?

I just bought an Athlon 64 x2 and am still on Windows XP Pro SP2 and want to upgrade so I can be up to date but I don't feel like forking 100$ for an OS is there a way to redeem your UPC on an Athlon 64 for a free OS or something? Is it worth it?

I know of no legal way to obtain a free copy of Windows.

The cheapest way to get Windows is to buy OEM - but even that will cost you £50.

You may as well stick with your current o/s until Vista comes out next year.

i just ordered window xp 64 bit today and kind of mad because of how lame buying operating systems are when i have windows home edition but it wont support 64 bit processors
