System:
  • i7 960 (3.2Ghz) Watercooled
  • 12Gb Triple Channel DDR3 (533MHz)wat
  • ASRock X58 Extreme
  • GTX 1060 3GB (I have 2 monitors, KA220HQ (60Hz))
  • 256Gb SSD (OS), 2TB HDD (Storage)

So I recently I discovered that this was a bottleneck. In the game Warface I was running CPU at 40% and GPU at 20%
But I tought maybe an OC would help a little bit.
Cinebench R15 score: 401cb
Open GL: 48.69 fps

Can someone help me with overclocking cuz I have no flipping idea how it works

Solution
Back to the subject, there's less than a handful of members on this forum that know how to properly base clock overclock, myself included. PM me if you decide you might be interested in getting that CPU over 4GHz.

Just to clarify, this isn't a bottleneck. This is perfectly normal and expected behaviour. A bottleneck would sooner be when one of your components are at 100% and you are witnessing frame rate limitations because of this. 40% and 20% simply means that's all that is being used to run the program, overclocking will likely not change anything (or maybe bring CPU usage down a little bit).

Overclocks don't drastically change performance, they're more about getting every tiny bit of juice out of the processor that you are able.

But if you still want to Darkbreeze made an excellent guide: https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/cpu-overclocking-guide-and-tutorial-for-beginners.3347428/

Darkbreeze's guide is good up until the actual overclocking part, which will be useless for this CPU model.

For this one, you will need to overclock the base clock (or might be called HT reference or Front Side Bus).

You better know how to clear CMOS before you begin this endeavor.

I apreciate your replies,
I'm reinstalling Windows 10 now, seems like i had adware on my pc... Now I'm not overclocking it anymore cuz it seems to risky. But I have an extra problem now... My system doesn't recognize my cdrom so I cant install win 7 with my DVD, since my dad had an Key for win7 left I tought maybe win 7 is good enough. But when I startup iy says No boot device, or smth and try to reboot or disconnect empty drives. So my SSD is formatted and I have my HDD inside but if I connect it, its doeing weird
