How do I optimize my arris router to prioritize my PC bandwidth?

Hi,

I got new internet today and it feels nice to start fresh. I have 50mb/s internet using an Arris router and currently my computer is only picking up 33mb/s meanwhile my iPad is picking up 60mb/s (somehow)!

I'd like to know how to make my PC get the priority of internet speed and bandwidth if possible!

Hi kanewolf, thank you for the response. It's wireless and 50mb/s is supposed to be the link rate/highest speed I can achieve. I'm on Win10 as well if that helps any.

Windows will show a link speed from the router to your PC. See this "how to" -- http://www.linksys.com/id/support-article?articleNum=136766 The throughput speed is limited to 1/2 what ever number is shown on the display. If you only have a 70Mbit link speed, then you are limited to 35Mbit....

Ok I'm sorry it says 144.0 Mbps. So with that, is there a way to make my computer have priority over all other devices for internet?

You may be able to prioritize your traffic, depending on the QOS features of your router.
