I read somewhere that by overclocking my 5200fx I might get similar
performance to the 5700 if that makes sense.

I also heard it involves a registry hack to be done each time on startup.

How do I overclock the 5200fx? If you post here I would be grateful if you
could also forward to me e-mail.

Odds are you have one of the 64 bit 5200's(128 bit extremely rare) and if
that's the case, you won't get close to a 5700's performance no matter what
you do. The only thing you can doe is overclock the mem a little.
Overclocking the core on this is asking for trouble.

bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Only if your name is "Q" and you
apply liquid nitrogen cooling.

The registry hack is found at www.guru3d.com among others, search for
"coolbits" (there's 2 version, you want the one for 4x.xx and above),
then the procedure is similar to the older method described here
http://www.besty.org.uk/overclocking/gfoc_step_3.htm (sorry, rather old
site, never bothered updating).

No hope of that, especially in any game using shaders.

Other people already helped you so I don't need to.
