How do I overclock?

Hi I have an i7 2600k processor is there any softwares as in the bios it won't let me go any further than 3.8ghz it's quite confusing, help please? thanks

Not all chips are created equal!!! Some chips do 5GHz for years and some can't even reach 4.5. Some last for years, while others die in a month.
