How do i partion my hard for windows and linux

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

I'm a few years out of touch with Knoppix but as one of the originals and best, it probably behaves like the others I use. When you put the in the Knoppix CD it may offer you the chance to run it as a Live CD or invite you to install it. DrakLive or something similar will take care of creating the three partitions Linux needs, having asked you to specify whether you wanted to remove Windows or allow Drak to shrink its Partition to make way for Knoppix.

It won't do anything without asking you so there's nothing to be lost by putting the CD in and booting from it. Check your BIOS to see which drive is tpo of the Boot Order list and make sure it's the CD ROM.
