I have recently bought a case and 3 rgb fans were included. The fans each had a 3 pin rgb connector and another 3 pin connected which I’m not quite sure where it connects. The motherboard is an Asus TUF B450m gaming - plus. Please help as I’m not sure where to plug anything in. Am willing to buy any adapters etc as long as it works.

Case I’m using: AVP Arion Mid Tower Case 3 x RGB M/B Sync Fans https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YBMRCFJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cSn6Eb94V0VRD

Any help is really appreciated, thanks.

Solution
No, don't do that.

One of those cables from the fan is for powering the fan. It can go on any motherboard fan header or hub.

The other 3 pin header is for the RGB lights. This connection is referred to as aRGB and is 5 volts. Your motherboard has 4 pin RGB headers and they are 12 volts. Plugging in a 5V RGB fan into a 12V RGB header will likely blow the diodes.

Hi yeah, sorry forgot to mention that their isn’t an extra hole for the connector to go on the four pin it’s just filled in so there’s no physical way I can plug it in. Any way I’ve now just bought new rgb fans that will work so I don’t have to faf about with too many adapters etc. Thanks for the response though 😀
