How do I reinstall Windows 7 when switching motherboards?

Would I first wipe the HD, swap motherboards, then boot up my computer and then go through the installation and reactivation of Windows? (Swapping from AMD to Intel)

It does not matter what order you do it in.
You can pre format your existing drive with the windows os on it.

Or you can format the existing drive through the windows 7 install and setup via the advanced drive options of windows setup where you are asked what drive you wish to install windows 7 too.
