I built a new Win 10 pro machine(new everything except the box and the power supply) with a fresh install of win10.
There were files on my old win 10 "C" drive that I needed.
I put the old "C" drive into the new machine and retrieved the necessary files.
Since then, I have a "ghost" image of an additional win 10 install when the machine boots even though the old "C" drive is gone.
How can I get rid of the ghost?

Solution
if you mean you get a boot up menu showing two copies of windows 10, then running "msconfig" might help.
the boot tab lets you edit/delete the default windows to boot to.

Bear in mind, deleting wrong one might cause windows to not boot at all without start-up repair/install disc/media.
