I haven't installed a Socket A heatsink/fan before, and just got a new one. Despite not having any idea how to install it, I don't even get a chance to try as no matter what I do, I cannot remove my old one. What's the trick? I've methodically tried just about every action physically possible and it won't budge.

Also, once it's off , how do I attach the new one? I know there is information about this around and even here on Tom's but, I look at my new heatsink clip and.. I just have no idea how it could ever be able to attach itself. It's a rather unusual heatsink.
Here, it's one of these: http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/index.php?redir=http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_product_info.php?code=CS-NPH2

Try looking <A HREF="http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_9342,00.html" target="_new">here</A>. That's the AMD support page. The have got some video on how to add and remove a heatsink along with some installation guides that should give you a good idea. More or less though, you just have to release the retaining clip from the knobs on the socket. In my experience it takes a bit of coaxing to do this though.

Whatever you do though, don't use a lot of force on it. You could really ruin your motherboard or processor if you do.
