Hey there, Hibre!

This must be pretty annoying! :/
The best thing that you can do to completely get rid of the malware is to perform a full erase on the drive (a.k.a. WRITING ZEROS).
I'd suggest to check your external HDD manufacturer's website for a diagnostics utility + a erasing utility (the eraser can be featured in the diagnostics tool as well).
If you are not able to find it, you can use WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool. Here's a link to the software: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=cEWrhW
Here's an article from the KB that explains how to perform the full erase and what exactly that means: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=KfNUeg
Once you click on the WRITE ZEROS feature, make sure you select the FULL ERASE option (this will write zeros to the entire drive). Keep in mind that the procedure will erase all the data on the drive to the point of no return.

Keep me posted! Hope this works! :)
