Thanks in advance.

That´s because even though it runs through soundblaster software, it´s not soundblaster chip on the motherboard. Dedicated soundcards are always better than onboard sound, soundblaster software or not. And they won´t have as much interference as well.
The Realtek ALC1150 sound chip that sits on Z97x G5 board is not the worst, and with some shielding it can do well enough for gaming.

well, as mentioned, ccleaner should show possibly hidden additional installs.
It is also possible that it is not named sound blaster X-FI MB3 but something different.
It seems to be named "Creative SB X-Fi driver" in gigabytes download pages so yes, it should be listed in uninstallable programs.
if it isn't, rerunning the installer could give option to uninstall it.

if all else fails, use restorepoint before said driver install?

Click on start and at the bottom for search for program or file type msconfig and hit enter. When the new window opens up click the startup tab at the top. In that tab un-checkmark any program you dont want to start when windows boots up.

Im not sure why if you have a Sound Blaster X-Fi card installed you would want to uninstall the software for it.

You may have already solved this by now, but for other users there is an option in the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi MB3 settings to prevent running when Windows starts. This gives you the functionality of the onboard Realtek sound chip without the MB3 pop-up, and you can still enter the program manually any time you like.

Personally I found the MB3 to be nowhere near as good as the Soundblaster X-Fi PCI version, so I disabled onboard sound in BIOS and uninstalled the drivers and software. This is the way to do it if you have a separate sound card.
