How do I remove the OS from my old computer to put it into my new computer?

All depends on the specific license.
With an OEM (preinstalled) PC, that license is tied to that original motherboard.
And it differs slightly between Windows 7 & Windows 8.

If it is a Retail license, then you can reinstall that on new hardware.
 
lol, you cant remove the old os on the old computer, but you can erase it.

you need to reinstall the os on the new computer.

format the hard drive on the old computer after you have reinstalled and activated the os on the new computer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as, USAFRet mentioned, if it's windows don't they limit your windows installation uses?
As in if you use the reg key on one pc then try to do it on another doesn't it say it's already used?
