Screwed in somehow.
Small flat screwdriver should work. You should be able to wedge it into the slot between 2 star points.I don't have a torx screwdriver so trying to unscrew it won't be too easy

Since i don't use the pc anymore i just thought i'd use it with my ssd so i can store stuff on itDo not try to unscrew anything with a torx type bit.
It is likely a part of the HDD and you will destroy the hdd if you do so.
There are any number of attachment mechanisms to hold a hard drive.
There may be 4 holes on the bottom of the drive which may be used to attach to a mounting plate.
A HDD will, as a standard also have 6 mounting holes, 3 on each side.
Some cases will not use any mounting holes and just clamp the drive in place.
The photos help, but I think some more definitive photos will help.
Why do you need to remove the hdd in the first place?
i think so...Is that an hp pc? If I recall hp PCs used to have a cage they used and you had to take a torx screw out and then the cage could push out.
