How do I reset the SMARTdrive tables. The drive is repaired

I completely repaired my hard drive but the laptop still halts on bootup with the SMART drive error. The drive is fine. The error is annoying. How can I reset the SMARTdrive tables so it will stop? And, don't tell me "Buy a new drive" This drive is not mission-critical and it is completely repaired.

How did you "completely repair" a hdd?

Why not turn off the SMART monitoring all together, then you won't have the warnings.

Only the factory has the equipment to reset the S.M.A.R.T. data.

Question, just how do you know the drive is fine? What specific diagnostics did you run?

A SMART error indicates that a critical attribute value, usually the Reallocated Sector Count, has fallen below its threshold.

I would examine the SMART report with a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo.

Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

There are DIY tools for clearing SMART, but that depends on the drive.
