So I corrupted my previous hard drive , it has some useful info on it that id like back

I dont want to take it into a shop because the material is rather embarrassing

Its a sata plug in hard drive and there's only 1 SATA slot although there are many USB slots

I downloaded Disk Drill but I can't use it because it would need me to plug in my old hard drive while my new hard drive is already plugged in, and there's only one visible slot on my laptop.

Can you get a USB- SATA adapter or will that not work (so i can plug in the old hard drive while using the new functional hard drive) ?

Whats the simplest way i can do this? (im not very tech savvy)

If the data is that important then you take it to a professional and pay the price. Anything else and you kiss it goodbye.
If I answered that question id be banned from the site immediately, just to tell you what it was, so that gives you a ball park idea of why im not going to a shop, nothing illegal but it was very extreme, it wouldnt be ethical to give the shop owner a shock either

Think 4chan but worse

We don't know what you have, and I'm pretty sure we don't want to know.

Given that, I think we're done here.

Closing this.
