hi, I have a Sapphire R7 260x OC 2GB and it's a piece of crap. Black screens, instability and more black screens. I'm using 14.12 omega drivers and it's still crashing, and no it's not a power issue. Me and a lot of people who have a good psu have the same problem. I give up on AMD products, I've read from a lot of people who suffer from this damn worthless piece of plastic that they RMA their cards and got Nvidia. How do they RMA it? I got mine from a store and their warranty policy says it can only be replaced with the same thing. My warranty ends in february 2015 and I've already replaced it twice. I don't want this card anymore, how do people RMA their cards and how do I get rid of this living nightmare from AMD?

Solution
I've sold my 260X for a 750ti. I cried when I saw my PC without blackscreens for the first time. Just kidding lol.. Sold my 260X for a 750ti, never had a problem with nvidia.
You point to a thread from you and say lots of people have the same problem?

I think you'd find for every 100 sold, maybe 1 or 2 have problems that are worth RMAing the card over.

But its moot. All you can do is get a replacement card anyway from what you've told me.

Philippines. I thought it was only a faulty card but it's not. The R7 260x's memory clock is unstable and jumps to the highest and to the lowest. That's why some people came up with the solution of underclocking it to avoid the instability. That is not a perfect solution though. Some drivers work best for people while others do not.

From what you said "I got mine from a store and their warranty policy says it can only be replaced with the same thing." and "I've contacted sapphire long ago with a support ticket. They said the RMA depends on the seller."

So it looks like you can either take a replacement or nothing. Or is there another choice?

The thread posted earlier isn't created by Bayonet but a member with a similar issue that to most folks seemed like an incompatible hardware issue.

Bayonet,
talk to the folks without the hashing and see if the both of you can come to an arrangement. I know this is frustrating but perhaps if you could add some more to the mix and get a new GPU instead. Chances are they will ah heck you with the same card.

And as Moonstick has asked, where do you live?

For the Philippines, maybe The Consumer Act of The Philippines is relevant?

Minimum standards for warranties. - For the warrantor of a consumer product to meet the minimum standards for warranty, he shall...permit the consumer to elect whether to ask for a refund or replacement without charge of such product or part, as the case may be, where after reasonable number of attempts to remedy the defect or malfunction, the product continues to have the defect or to malfunction.

I read that as saying that you're entitled to ask for your money back, having already had two replacements in nine months and no joy.

I dont think I'll be hiring a lawyer just for a graphics card lol. I'd spend more than I bought

I'm on windows 8.1, don't know if the windows update is related because it's for windows 7

Since I assumed you were on 7 , I posted that article however that changes much! FWIW, the Intel HD graphics is off the CPU and not Gigabyte and you should be a little more specific regarding the Graphics card make/model number so it'll be easier for us to locate off the web.

Furthermore, how old is the 160HDD's?

and off of this thread, your PSU is noted
Tier Five - Replace immediately. These units are NOT recommended for any system, no matter the purpose. Reference to higher tiered models for a better and potentially money-saving unit

Maybe it works different in the Philippines then, as in the UK you wouldn't need a lawyer.

As noted above, the PSU in your system is highly unrecommended: the faults you're seeing can be symptomatic of a poor PSU, which would also explain how you managed to get three bad cards in a row.

That is a very good point about the power supply ^. Way too many people spend a lot on CPU and video card then use the cheapest power supply and motherboard.

That is like bying an antique vase for a few thousand then tossing into a cardboard box with no padding to ship it because it's cheaper that way than to get a nice foam case for it.

There was a similar post on a car forum about people that buy Mercedes and BMW cars then complain they break down a lot. The mechanic that replied said what happens is that they spend all that money on the car, but because maintance and parts are expensive for them, the owners just don't do it which makes the car break down faster.

Sad but very true! That happens down my country as well!

I often tell people(mostly my clientele): "If you think you can afford a Ferrari then you should be certain you can afford the fuel to run it and the maintenance cost that accompany it. If not then try something lower down the branch."

My problem with my R7 260X also happens with R9 users.. Most of them have good power supplies and often think it's a power issue. I've been through sapphire, amd, linustechtips forums and I've read people having issues with their cards even though they have great power supplies and nice setups. Is it a power issue? Could be. What power supply do you recommend? I've had my power supply for almost a year and I've had no problems yet. Newegg and amazon isn't available in my country so I'll have a hard time looking for a specific power supply... but I'm sure it's worth it
