How do I save my Android phone downloads to an external hard drive connected to a router?

I have a D-link DIR-850L router with an external hard drive connected to it.
I want all the downloads from my Android phone to be saved directly to the external hard drive connected to the router. I want to be able to do this through Wi-Fi.
What options do I have?

I want to point my android apps to the location of the hard drive so that they could save files directly to the hard drive instead of the SD card or internal memory on the phone. How do I do this?

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear enough. Just to be clear, I didn't mean to say that I want my apps & their data to be stored on the hard drive. I only want my apps to be able to save the downloaded files to the hard drive through Wi-fi, without writing the downloaded files to SD card or internal memory at any point in time.

its not possible, download to your mobile and then copy through cable or through ftp software
