Question How do i separate my Chromecast from my PC and phone?

I mostly cast from my PC to my tv but sometimes i also cast from my phone. One annoying thing is that alot of the time i'll cast a tab from my PC and then have to pick my phone up and open the Google Home app just to raise the volume. Is there anyway i can just keep the two separated?

I just uninstalled Google Home on my phone and the volume issue immediately went away. Looks like my only option is to use a separate app on my phone for casting. All the ones i've tried so far that say they're compatible with Chromecast want me to pay for them... do you know a free app for Android that will just let me screen mirror to my Chromecast? That's all i'm looking for, cheers.

I bought one Chromecast for family member but we don't live together so I can't test.
