...have to "single click" to open. I have checked in mouse settings and I don't see how to set. I could configure these settings in Windows 7 but I can't see how to do this in Windows 10.

In the Folder Options window, click the General tab. In the Click items as follows area, click one of the following options: Single-click to open an item (point to select) Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)
