How do I have to setup a Netgeat DGN1000 if I want to use it as a switch?

I have another router that I use to access the web and I would like to use my old DGN1000 as a switch connected via ethernet cable. So that I can use the other 3 ports to connect other stuff like a printer, a laptop and the xbox.

Please let me know.

My main router is a Fritz!Box 7530 and it has the local IP set to 192.168.178.1

Change the ip on the netgear to something like 192.168.178.200 and disable the DHCP server

It is the same as how do I use my router as a AP you just don't use the wifi radios.

but the thing is that I never used it as an AP. Do I have to disable the wifi on the old router?

The reason I mentioned it is you get tons of people that ask how do I use my router as a AP. There are youtube video even on it.

If you do not plan to use the wifi you should disable the wifi radios.
