Since upgrading to Windows 10 and the new Microsoft Edge, I have been unable to figure out how to stop attachments from automatically downloading to the Download file. When I previously used Internet Explorer before the upgrade, a box would appear at the bottom of the screen and allow me to choose open or download before proceeding. Now, it just automatically downloads the file to the Download folder. How do I go back to having it ask my preference? Thank you.

is it not forced downloads is whats praised with 10 ?? but did not know it reached that deep ?? seems you postpone for a short time then it all resets back to mandatory ??

so far googling it around seems Microsoft decides if its safe or not to be opened ?? [glad they feel they know better then me ?? ]

this guys comment seems to spot on '' Pretty bad for a "Everything You Need to Know" page. No mention of editing email setting, where the advanced options are etc. No wonder it hasn't got any "shares" yet ''

sorry

This is why i never use any Microsoft explorers.

I normally go with a third party web browser.

Not many people look into a third party web browser which i don't understand why.Why risk going with a half ass baked web browser that can not block ad's and has to many loop holes.

It's like microsoft is shooting there own foot with edge.No matter how you look at it.It is the same internet explorer that we all hate in the end.

I normally go with a third party web browser that can and will block ad's.

I have found that as of late Firefox and chrome have been really shitty lately so i switched to a different web browser. It is a off base of Firefox yes but it run's so much better and you can use Firefoxs ad-on as well.

I use Comodo IceDragon as mine for now and see what comes next.

Here is the link from majorgeeks http://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/mg_search.html?cx=partner-pub-6960825562757852%3A6029691205&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=UTF-8&q=Comodo+IceDragon&sa.x=33&sa.y=8&siteurl=www.majorgeeks.com%2F&ref=&ss=&siteurl=www.majorgeeks.com%2F&ref=&ss=

So you know it's a clean install.

Hope this helps you out.

I though the same thing but when i got my new laptop. It runs fine for me other than all of the junk that i had to uninstall that came with it or coarse.

Seems fine to me.

And i have been running computers since the late 80's when i started in grade school.I have all most 30 years experience with computer systems.
