How do i stop lcd screen from rolling with lines?

When I turn on my laptop, the lcd screen starts rolling and is distorted. When I tilt the lcd screen several times, the rolling stops. What is the problem?

What kind of laptop is it? How old is your laptop? A possibility is the cable connecting the video to the laptop motherboard is loose or breaking.

It is a Gateway ML6732. It will be 2 years old in September.

No. I don't have a monitor to connect it to.

Did you ever resolve your problem. My laptop is has a rolling screen and i have to tilt the screen back and forth to get it to stop. My laptop is an HP Pavillion dv6853ea.
