How do I stop my gaming PC from "freezing"?

This has been going on ever since around February - March this year, and I still do not know or understand the situation. When I am running two programs, such as both Google Chrome and Adobe Photoshop CC, or when I am gaming one of my PC games my computer would abruptly "freeze" like in every 10 - 30 minutes to an hour after running such software or game. To be specific about this "freezing," it is that my mouse and keyboard are unresponsive, and in the gameplay the movement of the camera keeps the motion blur "frozen." The reason I categorized this forum for CPUs is because I think this has to do with my processor since it gets overheated as soon as my computer is "frozen." I tried to run my AVG software and the AVG TuneUp, and still nothing. I tried enabling something called an "X-Boost" to see if it can make any difference, but after restarting with the X-Boost activated it keeps me from logging in to my computer user profile. So I have no idea what to do, any help is appreciated!

My computer specs:
-Windows 10 64-bit
-CPU: AMD FX(tm)-9590 Eight-Core Processor, 4700 MHz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
-Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme 9
-GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
-RAM: 16gb
-HDD capacity is about 2tb

The FX-9590 is an extreme beast of a processor and requires:

A. An 850W gold Certified or better PSU as a minimum.
B. A MB that supports the 220W TDP requirement. Your MB fully supports the FX-9590.
C. An AIO Water Cooler of H110 or equivalent.

Please list your PSU, Cooling System and DIMM Modules P/N.?

A series of stress tests is probably in order to determine where the instability is.
Do you have the latest Bios for your system.? If not update to latest.

The FX-9590 can be tamed with Bios intervention and I can assist if you wish.
For stress testing, download AIDA64 and HWMonitor to your desktop side by side.

With confirmation of the above we can begin.
