I am trying to find it in my bios but I cannot find it is there somewhere else I need to turn it on?? I am using Insyde bios

Nope it happens automatcally so long as you..

1. Put a stick in ram in each slot for a single channel. The slots are often color coded which are for channel 1 and which are for channel 2. If unsure check you motherboard manual

2. The ram is compatible. some motherboards require a matching set in order to run in dual channel. Others may require that at least both sticks at least have the same capacity.

Ok, the color coding we were talking about was on desktops with 4 slots.
Since you have a laptop then the only 2 slots is on the same channel.

Blue memory and green memory means nothing to us, we need to know what actual brands/model numbers they are

Is there something specific you are looking it to believe it is not in dual channel mode? Just wondering why you think it is in single-channel?

Because it's showing up single channel in CPUZ and in my bios setting it was in dual and using the full 6gb it's suppose to but now, it's stuck saying I have 4gb installed after swapping out the ram chips in the same slot, the other one was working and now ever since a virus scanner, it doesn't work anymore. I thought it was bad ram but no I found out they both work but in one slot but not both slots. I can post pictures to show you or show you a ,txt file from cpuz showing you the configuration.

Yes well, having this problem and cannot figure out what the problem is. It's saying single channel, I reinserted both of the chips so many times one of them is a little loose when adding the chip in so my fear is that a pin is bent and I went to look at it today thoroughly.. nothing it's the same as the other no dust I can see or anything that is blocking it unless it's deeper in? I just hope it's not shorted but it can't be if it's showing up running memtest says everything is okay.

I am at a loss here

So I'll stick to getting a 8gb stick of ram if that's the case. My mobo can handle up to 16gb of ram apparently. Have to ask since it was working what could of caused it to malfunction like that?

6GB of ram is likely the problem. IN order to run dual channel you probably need matching ram sticks. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. I'm pretty sure benchmarks show that single channel vs. dual channel memory makes little difference overall.

When inserting laptop memory be sure to insert at a 45 degree angle. Make sure that it is all the way in, then push it down to lock it in place.

What's funny is HP said my model shipped with the exact ram chips and both are different manufactures (samsung and the other is hyundai), 2+4 the ram frequency I get is 9-9-10-24 it's limiting my gaming performance too 🙁

I guess I'll just get a 8gb stick and deal with it for now.
