How do I test CPU temp if Windows not installed

I reset Q6600 on motherboard using fresh NT-H1.

I dont have Windows installed on Hard Drive yet.

If I applied the TIM properly and install Windows I can verify the CPU temp
by using RealTemp.
If I applied the TIM improperly and install Windows I suspect I will fry the CPU.

How do I proceed?

You can take a look at BIOS, the idle temp might be a little higher than expected but that is because while in BIOS the power saving features are not in use.

That would give me a look at the temp bef the install? I'm concerned about the temp rise while installing Windows.

Good luck frying a Q6600 if the heatsink is installed; it will shut down way before being damaged.

I would not worry about that too much, windows installation cpu activity is limited by hard drive, solid state drive and dvd drive max bandwidths,then internet bandwidth. Its unlikely you would get the cpu past 30%.Mostly its just copying files.

Thats sound right. I think i'll try to install from dvd drive.

I think I might try Hirens Boot Cd also. There is S&M Stress Test under Testing Tools.
I just googled it. It might show temp.
