Ok, I got some pretty decent computers for free from a friend(Mid-low range for todays standards) and my dad has a super old computer that I want to transfer the files from so his caveman esque pc can get an upgrade(insane lag when on browser). There is only one hard drive with the OS, windows XP and all his files, how do I transfer these files tho the new computer(Complete and has an empty hard drive if need be)

Basically, you don't. Especially with an old OS like XP.

For a multitude of reasons, this will not work.
Copy the critical data (NOT applications or OS) to a USB or DVD.

Crucial data should be transferred with a flash stick or through online cloud storage. You shouldn't be moving an OS install from PC to PC - the only proper way, is a fresh install on that new empty hard drive.
