I have every file I have (around 600gbs) on my hard drive, including the Windows OS, and i want to transfer both the files and the windows OS to the SSD. How do i do this? Do i just simply copy all the files and paste it into the SSD? Will transferring both the files and the OS delete the files? Help!!!!!

No.

Definitely no.

Two basic methods will work:

Cloning or imaging. Either can work or fail. If one fails, try the other.

Standard application to do that is Macrium Reflect Free Edition. It will do either method.

Any files on the target drive (your SSD) will be wiped out. Any files on the source drive (your hard drive) should be left intact. The target becomes a replica of the source.

It's free. Trial version works fine.

The manufacturer of your new SSD may provide some other method...for instance Samsung does. You might try that or just go with Macrium

Dozens of threads on this site about Macrium use and a lot of experience here.

Wouldn't take over an hour or two if you had prior experience.
