Hi. I have a old 2010(?) Asus X44h.
It have a really good speaker.
Now, I have a new laptop.
The audio sound terrible.
I wonder if i can turn the built in speaker into external.
Or better, Replace my new laptop speaker with the old one. The old one were smaller.
When i see the cable, It only have red and black.
Is it as simple as connecting the correct cable?
Thankyou.

Depends. Assuming you can soldering wires, then the answer is yes AND no.

Yes because it should be a simple dual wire between the connector on the mainboard to each speaker. Strictly from an electrical standpoint, it's doable.

No (probably) - because a speaker element is not a complete speaker. It need to be held in place in a chamber that is very precisely made for that speaker, so it sounds good. This is probably a thing that is done very different between one model to another.
Therefore, even if the older speaker elements fits inside the newer laptop AND have better quality, the air chamber (if any) may be constucted in such a way that the sound doesn't get noticeably better.

No (2) - The amplifier circuit in the old computer may just be of much better quality. Also, you running the risk that the two laptops using speaker elements with different impedances.
