Windows 7 pro on a desktop

I just want to use some sound cards I am putting in and want to disable the built in sound.

Also, there is an internal speaker. Is there a way to disable that? I know I can unhook it but I didnt know if I could do it w/o opening desktop.

Thanks!!!!

Most likely in the Bios you should be able disable the on board sound. It may also be automaticly disabled when you install the sound card. For the internal speaker I would open the computer up and just give it a pull (it is most likely a small cylinder with two wires coming off from it to plug onto the board.

Just so you know unless you are a big audiophile the difference between the on-board sounds and most of the after market cards isnt that big.

I respectfully disagree. The amount of sound difference between the onboard sound of my ASUS P8P67 Pro and my Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro is huge, from watching YT videos to gaming. Especially when using 5.1 speakers. And I'm no audiophile.
