My cat walked on my keyboard, and now my Ctrl key makes a bee-doop noise when pressed and released.

Can anyone please tell me what this is and how to disable it? It's not Ease of Access/Sticky Keys, which is the only solution my searching has led to thus far.

Thanks!

Is the keyboard portable? Try the keyboard on another computer or another keyboard on your computer.

Determine if the sound follows the keyboard or stays with the computer.

Touch keyboard?

Check the following link:

https://support.lenovo.com/pt/en/solutions/ht103147

Covers Windows 8.1 and 10

Also check the "Ease of Access" > "Keyboard" configuration via "WIN" +"I" settings as well.

Any games? Possibly some default configuration has been restored or created - not sure what else to suggest.

Right click the small speaker icon in the lower right screen corner.

Select "Sounds".

Take a close look at the settings. The Asterisk in particular.

Test the various sounds until you find the "bee-doop" noise.....

You may be able to identify the associated keys.
