CPU: AMD A10 6800k 4.1Ghz

My CPU gets up to 70C in temps, but this problem has only happened somewhat recently. I checked the BIOS and the CPU is operating at 4.3 Ghz, which I thought might be some part of the problem since it should be at 4.1.

How would I get it to go back, or would this not really do anything?

Solution
If it is set to 43 and your CPU frequency is 4.3GHz, this means that the HT/Base Clock is 100MHz.

43 * 100MHz = 4300MHz Which equals 4.3GHz using this formula if you set the CPU Multiplier to 41 it will set the CPU to 4.1GHz.

41 * 100MHz = 4100MHz = 4.1GHz

Just to be clear, Yes change it to 41 to set it to stock.

you can go lower IF you so choose to.
a couple of things go into the heat of the CPU, 1. voltage 2. core clock, 3. cooler, 4. thermal paste, 5. airflow.

make sure your not over volting the CPU,
make sure your cooler is clean (remove the dust bunnies)
make sure your cooler fan is spinning properly
make sure there is plenty of airflow.
make sure the HT/base clock is correctly set to default.

in the bios make sure the multiplier is set correctly. if it is raised it will OC the CPU. to underclock the CPU you would lower it.

If all is set correctly then look into reseating the cooler on the CPU.

How would I lower the multiplier exactly?

with out a view of your Bios i can't tell you exactly right now. I might be able to look it up in your motherboards manual but i would need to know the exact motherboard you have to look it up.

you will need to enter your Bios and look for the CPU multiplier. it could be labeled slightly differently but i don't know because i have not seen your Bios.

I have found APU multiplier. is that it?
If so, it is set at 43.0 since its at 4.3ghz and I want it at 4.1 do I change the multiplier to 41.0 or something else?
