The command i was asked to do to fix my Game crashes may mess up my PC Next time i restart (judging from the comments) Some are saying that this will kill my GPU slowly, and it was only suppose to be executed on windows 7!?
Here is what the forum said:
"Now lets fix the damn problem, because it sure as hell fixed mine.
--Open start menu.
--Type CMD in the search box.
--Right click Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.
--Type in: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa "xxxx"
The X's will be replaced based on how much RAM in total you have.
4GB = 4096
6GB = 6144
8GB = 8192
Default = 3072
((Now if you don't have 4GB but 3GB you can set the value to 3072 just incase.))
--Press enter, it'll say Successful.
--Close Command Prompt
--Then Restart your computer."
Some of the replies:
"How do I reverse the effects of Part 3? Really regret doing it BEFORE I read about why not to do it on Win 10"
"The third step is NOT FOR WIN 10 USERS!!! DONT DO IT DONT TRY IT!!!"
"I do not recommand the 3rd step, because that command is basically killing your graphics card faster, i did some digging overnight and it just [removed]up your graphics card if you use it for too long, i suggest finding another solution"
Keep in mind step 3, was to execute that command "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa" in CMD
The original command was "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa "xxxx"" and "xxxx" is replaced with Ram Size...
4GB = 4096
6GB = 6144
8GB = 8192
Will this really kill my GPU, and should i restore my PC? Please help! 🙁
